August Rewind

Summer is over :( Well, kinda. It's still super hot around here so I guess it's more just back to school than anything.

I'm linking up to Run With Jess' blog for a monthy rewind recap. I think it's such a good idea and great way to reflect on the last 30ish days.

August Miles: 31 miles
Longest Run: 4 miles
Rodeo Fun Run 5K (33:48 PR Baby!)
Not Over the Hill Virtual 5K (33:36..I don't count this as a PR cuz it was on a treadmill and it's just easier for me to run on a treadmill. You don't have to agree with that..just my opinion!)

Monthly Weight Loss: 0.3 lbs. Hello Plateau!
Year to Date Weight Loss: 17 lbs

Yeah, plateauing when you are trying to drop weight SUCKS! I can honestly say I'm most likely not dropping any weight due to my diet. We all know I love pop and McDonalds and I still struggle with that everyday. I know if I tuned up my caloric intake and started eating right, I could jumpstart weight loss again. I KNOW what to do- I just have to do it. Ugh, self control- Blah!

Books I'm Reading: I haven't done a book review in awhile and I think one is acomin'. I finished a bunch of books lately- just need to let you in on them. Ones I'm reading this week are "Bossypants" by Tina Fey. Love her. The book is HILARIOUS! Also, reading "Total Money Makeover" by Dave Ramsey. I love his radio show- makes me motivated to work hard to pay off my debt. Also, people call in with their money problems and it makes me not feel so bad about mine. Things can always be worse!
I also caught up on a bunch of old Us Weekly's at my sisters, but you probably don't want to hear about that. Or do you?

Songs Downloaded This Month: basically the whole hot 100 list! Favs are TGIF by Katy Perry, Save me, San Francisco by Train, What the hell by Avril Lavigne. I mixed in some old school like Ride with me by Nelly and My humps by Black Eyed Peas. Again, I only listen to this kind of music when I run..I swear!!


I totally pooped out on my last couple weeks of my training plan. After my last 5k, I took a whole week off of no running. Yikes! I am the kinda person that needs a plan or I totally slack. I make excuses. So, I'm sitting down this weekend and writing a new training plan.

-Grape Crush Rush 5K. Not planning on PR'ing (although it would be nice!). I'm just psyched because we have a few family and friends that are joining us. And by us I mean my mom and me.
-Callie turns 3. 3!!? I'm going to try and not think about the fact that she will be in school soon.
-Speaking of school- Parker starts preschool. I'm going to try and keep it together and not have the teacher have to escort me out of the classroom. Gahhhh, why do they have to grow up? I know, I know...they do and will. Just let me have a day to mope, okay?!
-Increase my long runs to 5 miles by the end of the month.
- Do some exterior work on the house. This means I will tell Cory what I'm thinking of doing and magically it will appear!
Speaking of which, I need to show ya'all my bedroom makeover. It's not complete because I'm NEVER done redoing my house. It's an addiction! But I can share what I got so far. Okay. It's a deal then.
