Parker's Easter Program

Parker had his Easter program this week...oddly at 11 am in the middle of the week, but whatever, it was awesome. It gave the kids a chance to try on their Easter outfits and be super cute.

The preschool did 3 songs and a poem. ADORABLE! The little girl next to Parker cried the whole time, poor thing. Otherwise, everyone did amazing. There was a fun Easter egg hunt afterwards.

Crossfittin' It

I think I might be one of the last few people on Earth to never hear of Crossfit. After being totally into running, I was feeling the need to mix things up. I'd hit a plateau with my weight, and after hearing Cory talk about Crossfit, I thought why not try it?!

For those of you that were like me and had never heard of crossfit, it's basically a fast circuit training with weightlifting and quick cardio. Plus, Cory told me my boyfried Bob loves it, so I do too.

I find the whole website for crossfit super confusing, but luckily I have we have a Coach in the fam to help me out. Here he is explaining the next exercise to me while I am busy taking his picture.

Yes, I have a rullet..that's a reverse mullet.

We've been going to our old high school to work out because Cory has a key to the gym. Takes me back to my Lion Pride days!

So after my couple days I am SUPER sore. I think this change up in my workout routine will be great. It's really fast- like only 20 mins or less. The kids tag along and entertain themselves while we old people exercise. Here is Callie's exercise outfit she picked out:

My goal is to get toned up, reach my goal weight and do a freakin' pull up!!!

Wearing uneven socks will help you workout too

And don't worry- I'm still going to run...probably only a couple times a week for now. Oh, and I already lost 2 pounds in 3 pounds in 4 days doing this crossfittin' stuff in case you're wondering- which I know you are! :)

St. Patty's Day 2012

Another year and the Leprechauns visited us again! First, they left this super cool table all ready for Irish treats.

Those silly Leprechauns played lots of tricks on us again this year- flipped over furniture, put clothes and toys where they do not belong, turned the toilet water green, and put everyone's shoes in the fridge!! They also sent the kids on a super fun scavenger hunt again, leading them to a "Pot-o-Gold" (aka lots of fun toys in a bucket).

Teamwork Rocks! Finding a clue out in the car.

Racing to the next clue!

After we ate Lucky Charms, green eggs and pancakes, and had some "Leprechaun Juice", we hung out doing some St. Patrick's Day arts and crafts, playing games, and making more treats. It was a super fun day. Happy St. Patties Day to you!

5K, party of 1?!

Is it possible to PR during a training run? Last night on the treadmill, I decided I was going to run my own little personal 5K. No crowds, no pushy shirtless guys elbowing each other, no swag, no water stations. Guess what? I killed it!

I ran my little 3.12 miles in 30:21!! That's like, what, a 9:45 pace? Yahooooooo!!! In my 5K, the only trophy I got was the feeling of nausea and inner elbow sweat. Yeah, you're jealous. You can totally sign up next year.

Seriously though, anyone else have problems with super sweaty inner elbows?!

Sunny Days, Sweepin' The Clouds Away....

Mother Nature decided to have pity on Eastern Washington and didn't give us hurricane force wind gusts for once. It's been windy for about a week, so I was so excited to see the trees sanding still this morning.

Callie and I dropped off Parker at preschool, then we headed to get her first "real" haircut. She's gotten lots of trims before, but never anything over than an inch or two. Callie gets really freaked out over any type of appointment...dentists, doctors, haircuts...so let's just say she was less than excited. I got her a little excited because she knew she'd get candy, a balloon, and sparkles in her hair. Still not super thrilled.

Before going into the Salon

It took a few minutes for Ms. Callie to relax, but then did great. She was super happy afterwards.

After. Doesn't she look more grown up?!

Later in the day, we went down to a walking trail near our house to explore. My kids like to call it "The Enchanted Forest". Here are some fun pics from our walk.

We found a rope swing!

Got home and the kids helped me do some gardening and pick up the house. I got in a pilates video for extra exercise tonight while the fire was crackling away. What a great spring day and night!
