Birthday Random Acts of Kindess

January was awesome! Usually January drags on and on for me, but this year it flew by! Maybe it was because my birthday came and I had something super fun and special planned for myself. I turned 31, so I did 31 Random Acts of Kindness. My awesome kids, mom, sister, and my nephews came along for the ride and helped me out tons! Thank you guys!!

I'm really praying that these little acts of kindness touch people that need it and they then "pay it forward". Here is my Random Act of Kindness List that we accomplished.


1. Took Cory lunch
2. Picked up trash everywhere we went
3. Left money at the car wash
4. Payed for the person behind me at McDonalds
5. Hid dollar bills in the toy section of the Dollar Store
6.Took treats and cards to Firemen
7. Left change and laundry detergent and fabric softener at Laundrymat
8. Left a care package at a bus stop
9. Left encouraging post-it's all over town
10. Took flowers and a card to Gramma Lucy
11. Took "Chemo Care Packages" to the Cancer Center.
12. Posted a "Take What You Need" poster at the hospital
13. Took treats and cards to librarians
14. Left diapers and wipes at changing table at the store
15. Left coins on the games and toys at the store.
16. Mailed cards to out of town relative.
17. Left stamps at Post Office
18. Left bubbles at the park.
19. Left Caw Bruce some of his favorite juice.
20. Decorated Caw's truck
21. Let someone go ahead of me in line.
22. Donate blood.
23. Hold door open for someone.
24. Take treats and cards to police dept.
25. Put carts away at the store.
26. Put donuts in the teacher lounge at Parker's school.
27. Have manners all day and make sure to say "please" and "thank you" to everyone.
28. Mail a card to a Veteran.
29. Use re-usable grocery bags all day.
30. Leave toys for dogs at the dog park.
31. Donated treats and food to animal shelter.

It was a long day, but fun. I'm hoping so keep this tradition going in some way or another next year.

Parker's 6th Birthday

I have a 6 year old?! When did that happen?! Well my favorite son is now another year older...I always feel a slight bit of melancholy on my kids' birthdays...always happy, but then that thought of time pulling them away from me sinks in. I seriously have the thought all.the.time of how awesome God is that he gave me these 2 AMAZING people. He gets it right every time, doesn't He? I was meant to be their mom just as much as they were meant to be my kids. They seriously bring an indescribable amount of joy and completeness to my life. Gosh, I just love them so much. Okay, sappiness over (temporarily at least).

So Parker's birthday was rad, of course! It was a surprise party, so P had no idea it was even his birthday..he was shocked! I will try to upload the video of everyone saying "SURPRISE!" He was speechless. The theme was a "Magic Party" with a great magician and ventriloquist come and perform. The kids loved it! Even Callie got in on the performance, which was neat because she is usually reserved about having attention in a crowd. We had pizza, cake, and presents. It was a fun night. Happy 6th Birthday buddy. I love you. Hope you had the best day ever.

Callie's 5th Birthday Party

It was a "Sparkle Mermaid Party" by Callie's request this year, and it was a hit with the kiddos!

We had lots of fun foods like "Submarine Sandwiches" (Blimpie subs) , "Seaweed Salad" (pasta salad), a veggie tray with "Octopus legs (peppers), sea cucumber slices (cucumber slices), Seaweed sticks" (celery sticks), we had "Clam" cookies, "Shark Food" (fruit in a watermelon shaped like a shark mouth), and "Ocean Water" as punch (Sprite with blue food coloring). We also had "Shark Teeth" (swiss cheese cut into triangles), and "Fish and Chips" (Goldfish crackers and Lays potato chips).

We also had a pinata, "mermaid tails" for the girls and mermaid crowns too. We had steel drum music playing to make it seem more tropical. There were tiki torches and a bubble machine as well. I made some "jellyfish" that hung from the ceiling and those tissue puff poms. Thanks pinterest!

The biggest hit of the party though was the water slide/bouce house! The kids LOVED that thing. Callie wouldn't get in though, she just wanted to play with all her toys and did not want to get wet! Her guests really enjoyed it though. I wish I had one all summer long!

Callie's main gift from us was her own Go Kart! She is having a blast with it!! Parker's getting some turns too.

As my little lady turns 5, I thought I would share some of her favorite things: She still loves Taylor Swift, her favorite food is "chicken on a bone" and noodles from Panda Express. Her favorite color is purple and pink. Favorite animal is a giraffe and a panda. Her favorite thing to do is to play with her Teddy and have "Taylor Swift Salon" where she will do your hair and makeup beautifully. She likes to watch Lalaloopsy, TroTro, and Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. She plays on the computer- "nail games". Callie likes to talk in the third person all the time and it's hilarious. This past year, she's lost teeth, no more training wheels, and likes to pick out her own clothes (about 4 outfit changes a day people!) She wears a size 6 slim pants, and a small shirt. She's tall and skinny, every woman's dream! Girlfriend loves her footie pajamas too, which she calls her "warmfoots"...it will be 90 degrees out and she has those things on. Oh, and sadly, her father has turned her into a Seahawks fan. We will be setting up a foundation to help other kids afflicted with this illness.

Callie is sensitive, but tough. She makes us laugh all the time with her warped sense of humor and crazy things she says. She will probably be a comedy writer someday. Or maybe just a crazy mom who tortures her children.... don't know where she is getting this from.
